What is All-Inclusive?
As the name suggests, All-Inclusive (also called "AI") offers a vacation at an all-inclusive price. This means that you don't have to worry about anything on vacation and can simply relax completely stress-free. This special form of package tour includes flight, accommodation, and meals at the holiday destination. All-inclusive trips are particularly popular for beach vacations and family vacations.
You can recognize tourists with this “all-around carefree package” by a bracelet that must be worn in the hotel or during your all-inclusive cruise. As a result, employees & co know who is allowed to use all the services, such as the delicious food. In addition to the three meals, all local alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks are included. Normally still coffee and cake in the afternoon as well as snacks around the clock, sometimes offering a midnight buffet and cocktails or spa treatments. What many people don't know is that tips for hotel employees are already included. In many holiday resorts, however, the wages of the staff are very low, so hotel employees are always happy to receive a tip.
Imported drinks, such as wines and spirits, on the other hand, usually have to be paid for extra, as does à la carte food. There is no uniform scope of services as with half board or full board. All-Inclusive - Is Everything Really Included?
But beware, not everything is included in this package, as the services differ from tour operator to tour operator. Unlike other types of travel, there is no uniformly defined scope of services with all-inclusive. Some tour operators limit the number of drinks and not all offer snacks between main meals. The beginning and end of the all-inclusive package on the day of arrival and departure also vary depending on the tour operator. So be sure to check before booking what is actually included in the all-inclusive package so that you can be sure that you are really saving money!
What is All-Inclusive Light?
All-Inclusive Light or All-Inclusive Soft is a slimmed-down version of the usual AI package. This means that the selection of drinks in the hotel and the buffet can be smaller. Alcoholic beverages are often completely eliminated.
The afternoon coffee and cake are also not included in the price and some tour operators do not include any drinks. The advantage of this package is of course the price, which is lower than the normal all-inclusive price.
What is All-Inclusive Plus?
AI with additional terms such as plus, ultra, or premium includes even more on-site services that can be used around the clock in special cases. But here, too, the offer varies depending on the tour operator and hotel. "Plus" can mean many things: a higher number of branded drinks, à la carte meals in the restaurant, free drinks in the hotel disco, a daily restocked minibar, and even free service on the (hotel's own) beach or room service until late at night. Sometimes AI plus even goes so far that you can use more expensive sports offers such as windsurfing, sailing, or diving for free.
