Are you ready to really dive?

8 Tips for Beginner Divers

For those of you who have never ventured into the fabulous world under the water's surface, there are first of all a few valuable tips for diving beginners - collected from real divers.

Diving should not be underestimated. This is a real competitive sport, in which the body is not only at the mercy of the extremes underwater, such as the changed pressure conditions but also has to carry a lot of weight on the back and diving is of course not entirely harmless either. Even so, you can still feel weightless underwater with full scuba gear but don't underestimate the effort and conditions.

For this purpose, we have already put together the following helpful and hopefully informative diving tips for you.

1. Do an Introductory Dive

You can find out whether diving is really a sport for you during a relaxed introductory dive before you book a not-so-cheap diving holiday, only to find out after day one that the underwater world is not yours at all. If you have decided to learn to dive after a trial dive, then you should look for a good diving school for a diving course in order to gain the right security underwater.

2. Pay Attention to Your Own Health When Diving

When you're on a diving holiday, you naturally want to spend as much time as possible in the water, pardon me, underwater, and then you suddenly get the annoying flu or an inflammation of the paranasal sinuses. Thoughts like " It's not that bad after all " and " Now I've already paid for the entire diving holiday " can quickly come to mind, but you should never risk your health and only dive if you're completely fit. Otherwise, major problems can arise, such as pressure equalization under water. It can even cause barotrauma-come. It's a pressure injury, like a ruptured lung, and nobody wants their dive vacation to end badly.

3. Pay Attention to Your Own Limits

Diving limits are similar to health. You should listen to yourself and know exactly which dive you trust yourself to do. If your guide is planning a diving holiday that you think might be too difficult for you, don't be afraid to say so. In the end you overdo it and there can be difficulties.

4. Learn How to Breathe Properly Underwater

Even experienced divers can sometimes use incorrect breathing. Often you have the unconscious feeling that you are underwater and cannot breathe here. This leads to an air intake with delayed exhalation. You basically always hold your breath for a short time, which can lead to a higher consumption of gas than necessary. So you have to remind yourself that, thanks to the oxygen tank and diving mask, you can breathe just as normally underwater as you can on land.

5. Get to Know the Diving Equipment

The be-all and end-all when diving is the correct handling of the equipment. It doesn't matter whether you get equipment borrowed from the organizer of a diving vacation or whether it is your own. Before you go on your next dive, you should take a close look at your equipment to answer questions such as " Where are the inlet and outlet valves on the BC? " or "How do I drop lead weights in an emergency?" to answer in my sleep.

6. Find the Right Dive Buddy

You should find the right dive buddy for your dives . So-called diving buddies watch out for each other and help each other if problems arise. You should be well coordinated and understand each other perfectly under the water surface . This not only brings a large portion of security to the dive, but you also always have a partner who can fly with you on the diving holiday and honestly, you want to share the fascinating views under water, don't you?

7. Drink Plenty of Water Before Diving

A lot of people don't even realize it because you're underwater, but diving really does make you sweat. As already mentioned, diving is one of the more strenuous sports , so you should make sure you drink enough water before the dive so that you don't run out of strength later.

8. Do Not Dive Under the Influence of Alcohol

The last tip is pretty much self-explanatory and no renowned diving school or even a good diving guide will let you be drunk.
