During the height of the pandemic, Iceland had announced a new lagoon experience near the nation's capital, Reykjavik. Now the country is making waves again with a new hot spring set to open not even a full year later. This time, it's attracting visitors to the North!
Now introducing, the Forest Lagoon Spa. Situated on Eyja Fjord and surrounded by the enchanting Vaglaskogur Forest. It is set to offer similar amenities as both the Blue and Sky Lagoon (a floating bar, steam rooms, etc) and is set to open in March, 2022.
Ticket prices for the Forest Lagoon start at 5.800 ISK or around $47 USD per person for the basic entrance package.
Just a few minutes drive from what is referred to as the capital of Iceland's northern region, Akureyri—visitors can now plan to fly into Akureyri airport from their home airports or even from Reykjavik. Another option is driving up to the northern coast which takes approximately 5 hours, not counting the many stops you are going to want to take along the way because of the stunningly diverse landscape.
