To get to the center from Lisbon Airport, which is only 7 km (4 miles) away, you have the following options:
Metro: It is the easiest way. You just have to take the red line for less than 2€
Aerobus 91: Leaves the arrivals terminal every 20 minutes and goes to Praça do Comércio and Rossio, in the city centre (cost: €3.50).
Public buses numbers 5, 8, 22, 44, 45, 83 and 745 connect the airport with the city centre, costing approximately €2 per ticket.
Taxi: The average cost of a taxi ride from the airport to the city centre is around €15.

The city is home to an immense artistic heritage of French and Arabic-influenced works admired throughout the world. It is also famous for its lively nightlife, and one of its characteristic symbols are the classic yellow trams.
The city is made up of several neighborhoods, each one different from the other. The ones we recommend visiting are:
Baixa: the neighborhood that extends from the banks of the Tagus River and is the heart of the city.
Bairro Alto: the neighborhood of young people and fun, home to artists, bookstores and nightclubs.
Chiado: where shops, cafes, bookstores and theaters abound.
Belém: for its colorful gardens and the architectural style of its monuments, among which the Belém Tower stands out.
Alfama: for its narrow streets and its precariously balanced palaces.
Did you know... that Sintra is only a $5 return journey from Lisbon? Making it a super cheap day trip to make.
If possible, opt to get an Uber around the different palaces and iconic spots in Sintra. An Uber will be a whole lot cheaper than grabbing a tuk-tuk or shuttle. From personal experience, we were scammed by the shuttle at Pena Palace.
