Mateys, we know you love living the high life for a bargain. And while private islands are usually for the rich and famous, we are here to tell you that that doesn't always have to be the case.

We've found an amazing private island in the Philippines that is surprisingly affordable, and definitely worth adding to your bucket list! Read on to learn more.

Details

Welcome to Talacanen Island, a private island that is home to the heavenly Floral Island Resort. This top-rated resort (rated 4.96/5 on Airbnb) offers an exclusive, secluded and wild atmosphere for your next beach holiday and all at a totally affordable price!

The island has 6 villas in total, a restaurant, and a massage cabin, each of which comes with a sea view and the possibility of observing sublime sunsets.

All guests will be able to taste local cuisine thanks to the full board basis. Guests will also have access to all the necessary equipment for diving, canoeing, or playing on the volleyball court, for example.

There is a jetty that leads past the rougher shore that you can jump off of for swimming and snorkeling.

An important point that makes this place even more beautiful is the commitment that the hosts have to the environment. They are part of the "The Coral Triangle" initiative, an international project to plant artificial coral reefs.

They want every visitor to be respectful of the environment, and encourage them to keep their island and the flora and fauna authentic and clean.

Every drop of water is brought to the island from the mainland, and the island is fully solar-powered. You can even visit the domes and the taklobo garden (giant clams), as well as plant corals yourself.

You are probably wondering, how much does it cost and what's included?

This Airbnb can accommodate up to 16 people, with a minimum booking of 4 people. While there is a 2-night minimum, if you book for a week or more you can receive a weekly discount.

We've found rates in 2022 from $1,822 a night when booking with a group of 16—which is under $114 per person, per night. Not bad when you factor in all your meals, drinking water, coffee and tea, daily housekeeping, equipment for activities, Wi-Fi in the restaurant and boat transfers. Plus, you'll have an entire island to explore!

Additional services can be booked at an additional cost, such as massages, soda, spirits and cocktails, and day trips (island discovery, fishing trips, etc.).

Weddings and events can even be organized here (as long as they aren't self-planned).

What do you think, pirates? Does this sound like something you would book? Let us know in the comments!
