There are also seven swimming pools, five of them heated, plus nine restaurants, making this the kind of resort where we could happily spend a few days without going anywhere else.

🌴 The Experience

This is one of those hotels where the grounds are almost as much of a draw as the destination itself. Paths wind through tropical gardens filled with palms, bamboo, flowers, lakes, and waterfalls before opening onto huge Asian-inspired pools that genuinely look like they belong at a luxury resort in Thailand.

Five of the hotel's seven pools are heated, making this especially tempting outside the peak summer months. Rooms continue the theme with Balinese-inspired interiors and terraces overlooking the gardens, while suites can add Mediterranean views to the mix.

The Thai Spa takes the Southeast Asian theme even further, with traditional Thai treatments and massage experiences. There are also daily activities ranging from yoga and tai chi to meditation, tea tastings, Asian cooking demonstrations, and even guided walks through the gardens with a botanist.

And then there's the food. The resort's own website currently lists nine restaurants, including Koh Samui, which serves dishes inspired by Thailand, Indonesia, India, Japan, and Vietnam. Restaurant and pool openings can vary by season and occupancy, so not everything will necessarily be open during every stay.

❤️ What We Love About This Hotel

For us, it's the setting.

Plenty of hotels call themselves "tropical," but Asia Gardens really commits. The palm-lined pools, wooden pavilions, waterfalls, bonsai trees, and dense gardens make parts of the resort look remarkably far removed from Spain.

It's also close enough to Benidorm and the Mediterranean that you can still turn the trip into a proper Costa Blanca vacation, but we'd probably need at least one full day where our only plans involved a heated pool and figuring out which restaurant to try next.

• The hotel is in Finestrat, Alicante, and the property lists Alicante International Airport at around a 40-minute drive away.

• Spa access is not automatically included with your room and comes at an additional charge. The minimum age for the spa and wellness area is 16.
