The train route is referred to as the Santa Claus Express and is a double-decker train that offers sleeper cabins for overnight stays, you can even grab a room with private ensuite bathrooms—a true comfortable way to travel across the Finnish country and experience the magic of Christmas in Santa's village.

This is a great alternative to flying directly to Rovaniemi, Finland which can easily cost $800+ round trip. We found some great early-bird flights to Helsinki in December from $382, then grab a night's rest in the sleeper cabin of the overnight sleeper train to Lapland from $119 per person more. Guess you could call this a Polar Express experience.
