After months of Israel saying they would open to tourists and repeatedly canceling, today the country is finally open for US travelers again!

As with all other recent openings, you must be fully vaccinated against or recently recovered from COVID-19 to take advantage without having to quarantine. You can find all the details down below.

Details

The main requirements to enter Israel are as follows, and can differ quite a lot depending on your circumstances:

  • Your last vaccine dose has to have been given within 180 days and not less than 14 days. For many of us, that's no longer the case, but it appears that a booster shot will bring the count back to 0 days.

  • If you've recovered from COVID-19 recently, the requirements are different, see the government website.

  • A filled-out entry declaration form.

  • A PCR test within 72 hours of your arrival to Ben Gurion Airport, and another to be taken on arrival. This must be followed by an isolation of up to 24 hours, depending on how long the results take.

Head to the government website for more detailed information regarding entering as a tourist.

If you need flights, you can book a wide variety of dates from the low $500s. These aren't the lowest fares we've ever seen, but it's unlikely that we'll see them go much lower in the near future.
