Since March 2020 Canada has been closed for tourists due to the pandemic. Luckily, things have changed as of yesterday, August 9th. After about 16 months, Canada has reopened its borders for tourism to citizens from the US (who are vaccinated). Keep scrolling for all of the details!

Details

As announced a few weeks ago by the Canadian government, the borders will be reopened to tourists as long as they are fully vaccinated (14 days from the second dose) with one of the following vaccines:

- Pfizer-BioNTech

- Moderna

- AstraZeneca/Covishield

- Janssen (Johnson & Johnson)

In order to enter Canada for tourist travel and to provide vaccination status data, travelers must use the ArriveCAN App or the web portal. Travelers also must ensure that the mandatory requirements are met.
