A Real Life Hobbit Village in Italy!
In Summer 2022 You Can Visit Real Hobbits in this Italian Version of the Shire

In addition to our favorite hobbits Bilbo, Frodo, Sam, Pippin, and Merry, we would like to introduce another hobbit to you: Nicolas Gentile.
The Italian Nicolas has quit his job as a pastry chef to continue living as a full-time hobbit. He bought a piece of land in Bucchianico, in the middle of Italy, to create his own version of the Shire.

The project is called La Contea and started just a few years ago. Nicolas bought a piece of land in a beautiful place in central Italy in 2018 and has already started building the hobbit cottages. There is also a crowdfunding campaign to make this hobbit dream come true!

This Italian version of the Shire will become a place for all those who like to enjoy the real hobbit life, with a relaxed atmosphere, simplicity, awareness, and of course good food and drink.
Nicolas' hobbit project has now received quite a bit of support. For example, actors Elijah Wood, Sean Astin, and Billy Boyd recorded videos in which they wanted everyone to know that they think it's a great idea.
