Looking for an off-the-beaten-path excursion in Belize? Tobacco Caye is a small island that is only reachable by boat. Travelers are advised to grab a ferry in Dangriga—a small coastal town that is less than two hours south of Belize City.

We found a really cool Airbnb on this island that offers overwater cabanas for an incredible rate. Stay from just $110 a night. All huts face the Belize Barrier Reef and offer a deck with a hammock to lie out on and enjoy the incredible sea views.

Guests are advised to either pack plenty of food or add the $40 extra charge for a daily meal plan since there are no restaurants and shops on the island. The accommodations and facilities are also all solar-powered, so guests should be prepared for no hot water or air conditioners during their stay.
