Welcome to Dunskey Estate, an enchanted 2000-acre wonderland full of enchanting gardens, breathtaking views, secluded beaches, and tranquil lochs.

You'll be able to book a private and self-contained apartment inside a historic Edwardian castle located on a vast estate on the Scottish coast in Portpatrick.

The space has been lovingly restored and brought up-to-date with wifi, biomass heating, and has a smart TV.

The large apartment is spread out over two floors and has 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, and can comfortably sleep 8. Enjoy a welcome back with fresh eggs, milk, baked goods, cheese, and coffee and tea.

Perhaps the best part of your stay will be exploring the estate and all the wild and magical wonders to discover. The maze, garden, and forest are a short stroll from your door. Throughout the year you'll be able to see animals on the estate like deers, rabbits, pheasants, and squirrels.

Besides forests, gardens and lochs there are also three waterfalls on the estate. Possibly the most magical is the one located near a cave.

You can even enjoy a lovely picnic lunch and a bottle of bubbly on the loch. The estate has a boat on the lower loch that is available for guest usage.

Take a walk from the estate to the lighthouse, then circle back along the most dramatic coastline of the Southern Upland Way. Try to find the shipwreck along the way.

Those who are looking for a little more adventuring can even try their hand at spelunking off Turtle's Back Landing.

At low tide, there are many swimming holes, though you may have to share them with some of the local octopuses.

The flat has limited availability this summer with higher prices, but has plenty of availability through the fall & winter months at the price advertised below. but the estate is sure to be beautiful then. There is a 5-night minimum for booking, but with all there is to explore, you'll want to take your time.

We've found 5-night stays in November and December from $2,059. When booking with a group of 8, you can expect to pay $257 per person for five nights β€” which comes out to a little less than $51 per night, per person.
