Pirates, have you dreamt of waking up in Middle Earth? If you're a huge Lord of the Rings fan or love the look of Earthen homes (don't we all?), then this experience is right up your alley. Though the Hobbiton movie set has been open to the public for daytime tours since the early 2000s, the opportunity to sleep in a hobbit hole from the film series has not yet been offered. However, to celebrate the 10th year anniversary of The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, Russell Alexander, the owner of the property, is inviting guests to stay the night and experience Hobbiton like never before. The best part is this experience could be yours for as little as $10 NZD or ~$6 USD a night!

How to Book?
Mark your calendars! On December 13th at 4:00 PM ET (December 14th at 10:00AM NZDT) bookings open up.
Stays will take place March 2nd - 4th, March 9th-11th, and March 16th-18th, 2023.
How to Get There?
The easiest and cheapest way to get to the Hobbiton village is to fly into Auckland International Airport (AKL). From there it's a less than 2 hour drive from the airport to the village of Matamata. There's also many day tour options that will bring you to the movie set from Auckland city center.
The Accommodation
Overnight accommodation will be provided in The Millhouse, which offers two bedrooms that will comfortably accommodate four guests. The home is of course, Hobbit-inspired fit with Bilbo Baggin's writing nook and decor that matches that of the movie trilogies.
The Experience
That's not all! During their stay, guests will have personal access to the Hobbit Hole, where they can relax and enjoy a cup of tea. Enjoy a full-board stay with meals at The Green Dragon Inn, serving up delicious evening banquets, Second Breakfasts, and Elevenses meals. As well as a behind-the-scenes private tour of Hobbiton Movie Set.
