Downtown New Orleans is about to get a brand-new luxury landmark. Fairmont New Orleans marks the brand's return to the city for the first time in more than 20 years, with an entirely new 18-story hotel inside the historic former Bank of New Orleans building, just steps from the French Quarter. There’s a rooftop pool overlooking the skyline, a hidden speakeasy and a restaurant from Chef Emeril Lagasse himself.
This is a brand-new property, not a reopening of Fairmont's former Roosevelt-era hotel, and it's set to open in mid-November 2026, so reviews are still rolling in. It's the kind of hotel you book for the experience: the five-star surroundings, the rooftop pool, the cocktails and the location, rather than for a bargain rate. This is definitely positioned as more of a splurge stay, but we spotted several May dates under $400 a night, which caught our attention for a brand-new Fairmont this close to the French Quarter.
🏴☠️ Pirate Tip: Fairmont New Orleans is in the Central Business District, about a 15-minute walk from the French Quarter. That puts you close enough to wander over for dinner, jazz and a night on Bourbon Street while still having a slightly quieter place to come back to afterward.
