We generally feature more affordable stays, but every once in a while, a luxury hotel comes along with rates low enough to make us take notice.

At first glance, the Fairmont Chateau Whistler (rated 4.5/5 on TripAdvisor) looks like a fairy-tale castle tucked into the mountains. Sitting right at the base of Blackcomb Mountain, it’s one of Whistler’s most iconic luxury hotels, and rooms can easily climb to $700 to $800 per night.

That’s why the prices we found stood out. Rates vary quite a bit by season, but there are some especially good values in fall and spring, with nights dropping into the mid-$200s. Winter ski-season stays are naturally higher, but we still found select dates well below the hotel’s usual peak pricing.
