Delta has a great deal for SkyMiles redemptions on flights to the Bahamas from late summer to early winter. These round-trip award flights starting at a mere 11,000 miles (plus a little over $100 in taxes & fees). If you book a one-way to the Bahamas and find another mode of transport back (paid ticket for example), you can avoid most of the taxes and fees, since one-ways from the US are starting at 5,500 + about $7.
