Fly to Venice from $441 Round Trip—Then Catch a Direct Bus to the Dolomites From $10 More
From $441
Pirates, whether you're an avid skier or hiker, there is no better place in the world to go than the Italian Dolomites. Having hiked on six continents and over 40 countries, I can say hands down that the Dolomites was my favorite trip yet. I did hut-to-hut hiking in August and September and the conditions were perfect, so I've found all the best flights from airports across the US for that time of year.
While I was there, I just kept imagining how magical the Dolomites would look covered in snow, so I've also included the best option for dates during ski season below. I don't think you can make a wrong choice with this one.
The best way I've found to get to the Dolomites is by flying into Venice and catching a two-hour bus to Cortina d'Ampezzo which only costs around $10. Round-trip flights start from $441, which is a bargain considering many dates go over $1,000. Make your trip a few days longer and unwind in Venice for a few days after you return from your adventure.
Pirate Tip: Renting a car is also an option if you don't want to take the bus. I'd just point out that there is good bus transport once you're in the Dolomites and it saves you a lot on parking fees.
Here are some of the dates and departure airports we found for you, but there are many more available. We've marked the deals with either a ski or hiking emoji to let you know which season to book depending on the activity you want to do.
