PokéPark KANTO will officially open its Poké-gates in Japan on February 5, 2026, inside Yomiuriland, becoming the first-ever permanent outdoor Pokémon park.
So, if you want to be the very best, like no one ever was… keep reading!
Opening on February 5, 2026, the park will sit in the Tama Hills of the Kanto region (yes, the actual Kanto), on the grounds of Yomiuriland near Tokyo. Spanning 2.6 hectares, the park combines newly developed areas with completely revamped old ones. The result? A Pokémon paradise that feels like it jumped right out of your Game Boy Color.
Tickets are already available, and based on what we’ve seen, they’re going fast. Like, Rapidash fast.
Think of it like an IRL version of Route 1… but with more tunnels, tall grass, and hills. You’ll see Pokémon doing their thing in the wild, hanging out, running around, maybe even getting into a light battle.
It’s over 1,600 feet long
Kids under 5 (and folks who can’t manage stairs) can’t enter this part, so check the access rules beforehand
Requires a Trainer’s Pass or Ace Trainer’s Pass
Here you’ll find everything from shops to stage shows, and some seriously cute rides.
Trainers’ Market: Merch, snacks, and more.
Pokémon Center: Chansey is ready to greet you, of course.
Poké Mart: Great drinks, no Poké Dollars required.
Sedge Gym: Live shows with Pokémon you’ll want to record for your IG Stories.
Pika Pika Paradise: Electric ride powered by Pikachu and friends.
Vee Vee Voyage: A carousel pulled by Ponyta and Rapidash. You can also float with Eevee in a balloon.
Options: Trainer’s Pass or Ace Trainer’s Pass
All tickets include general admission to Yomiuriland
Pokémon Daisuki Shop and some events require limited-access tickets
Town Pass starts at ¥4,700 (≈ $32) and goes up to ¥5,500 (≈ $38)
Trainer’s Pass starts at ¥7,900 (≈ $54) and goes up to ¥9,400 (≈ $65)
Ace Trainer’s Pass starts at ¥14,000 (≈ $97) and goes up to ¥16,500 (≈ $114)
*USD prices are approximate and based on current exchange rates.
If you still remember your team from Red or Blue, or cried during “Bye Bye Butterfree,” this one’s for you. PokéPark KANTO isn’t just another attraction; it’s a love letter to fans who grew up collecting cards, watching the series & movies, and naming their first Charmander “Flameboi.”
So set your alarm, check your Pokédex, and mark February 2026 in your calendar, because we’re all going back to Kanto.
