The recent floods in Central Texas have left thousands scrambling for safety, shelter, and a sense of normalcy. But in the middle of all this chaos, Airbnb.org has stepped in, once more, to offer a bit of relief — literally.
Through their Emergency Stays Program, Airbnb is working with local organizations and trusted partners to offer free, short-term housing to people who’ve been displaced by the flooding, as well as to frontline workers who are helping on the ground.
If you or someone you know has been affected, the process is surprisingly simple: go to airbnb.org and request help. You’ll be matched with a host in the area who’s opened their home — no fees, no catch, just support when it’s needed most.
This isn’t the first time Airbnb.org has launched an emergency housing effort. Since its founding, the nonprofit arm of Airbnb has supported housing during the LA Wildfires, hurricane victims and more.
And if you’re in a position to help? You can sign up to become a host, or donate to Airbnb.org to support housing efforts in Texas and in future disasters. Every dollar goes directly to covering stays for people in crisis — not to company overhead.
