The Most Visited Cities in the World 🏙️
Do you need inspiration for where to go on your next trip? Or perhaps you are looking to avoid mass tourism?
Every year, the market research company Euromonitor International, in collaboration with the data company Lighthouse, investigates which city most people traveled to in the past year.
Whether, you're looking to avoid the crowds or want to discover why so many travelers are pulled to these destinations, we'll tell you which cities are at the top and which ones won the gold medal as the most visited cities!
This year, 100 city destinations were again examined to create the Top 100 City Destinations Index 2024. The following criteria were considered for the analysis: economic and corporate performance, tourism performance, infrastructure and policy, attractiveness of tourism offers, health and safety, and sustainability.
A ranking of the most visited cities was also created, i.e. how many entries took place from abroad.
While cities like Paris, London or Barcelona are among the most popular cities, we were surprised to see that the top visited city, is not even located in Europe.
