Is working from home suddenly incredibly dull? Are you eager to start traveling again? We hear you, Pirates! Last year we saw a few places—such as Barbados, Dubai, and Mauritius—offer visas to remote workers and we are excited to tell you that Dominica is joining the list of countries welcoming digital nomads with the launch of their Work in Nature visa.

Tell Me More

If you've never heard of Dominica, then you're in for a surprise. Dominica is a lush island in the Caribbean archipelago, located between Martinique and Guadeloupe. Wilder than its neighbors, it is a paradise for lovers of unspoiled nature. Rivers, waterfalls, and tropical forests are all a common view on the island. Did we mention, they also speak English?

The Work in Nature (WIN) visa will allow remote workers to settle on the island for a period of up to 18 months. The idea is to create a WIN village with remote workers who will be provided with a range of accommodation, co-working spaces, and entertainment areas.

The visa is targeted towards people who want to work remotely from a dream tropical environment while at the same time helping stimulate the tourist industry of the island which was strongly affected by the health crisis.

Who Can Qualify for the Program?

  • You must be at least 18 years of age

  • You must be of good character, without a criminal record

  • You must be able to work remotely

  • You must earn an income of $50,000 or more over the next 12 months and/or have the means to support yourself, your spouse/partner, and other family members accompanying you during their stay in Dominica

How Much Does the Visa Cost?

In order to apply, applicants must make a non-refundable application fee of $100, while the cost for a single applicant is $800, and a family application is $1,200. A waiver on income tax will be granted for people working remotely from Dominica under the WIN Visa.

Does this sound like something you would want to do? You will receive your response within approximately 7 days and will then have 3 months to move to Dominica and start your new adventure.

Here's the Prime Minister talking about the visa (and look at those dreamy views...)
