These Caribbean Destinations are Open Right Now

If you’re like us, you’re craving a sun-filled vacation sipping cocktails on a fabulous white sand beach in the Caribbean. While there are a handful of islands currently welcoming U.S. tourists, the majority of them require quarantine from five to 14 days. Fear not, we have compiled a list of quarantine-free destinations that are currently safe to travel to in the Caribbean.

Aruba

Aruba is currently open to U.S. travelers who can provide a negative PCR test taken within 72 hours of arrival and must complete an online immigration (ED) card. While you won’t be required to quarantine, purchasing COVID-19 health insurance is required prior to travel.

The Bahamas

The Bahamas removed the 14-day quarantine requirement back in November. U.S. travelers must take a rapid test on day five of their visit. The costs of which will be included in the Bahamas Health Visa. All entry requirements and updates can be found here.

Bermuda

Bermuda is open to U.S. Tourists who can submit a negative PRC test result pre-arrival and must have another test done on arrival. The requirements for a valid test can be found here. While Bermuda is not technically quarantine-free (as you will be expected to quarantine until you receive your negative PCR arrival results), the Bermuda government states that test results are usually ready within 24 hours, so you won't need to quarantine for too long. You will also need to wear a wristband for up to two weeks that will track your whereabouts with a corresponding app in order to help lessen the spread of Covid.

Curacao

Curacao is now open to all US residents. Besides tourists having to show the normal proof of a negative COVID-19 PCR test (taken 72 hours before traveling) they will also have to fill out an online digital immigration card before departure, complete a Passenger Locator Card within 48 hours of departure and carry a printed document of proof.

Dominican Republic

The Dominican Republic has recently downgraded to a Level 3 Travel Advisory (from a Level 4). U.S. citizens are currently able to travel to the Dominican Republic without quarantining or proof of a negative COVID-19 test. Rapid tests will be performed on randomly selected travelers upon arrival. While beaches have reopened, there is still a mandatory curfew set in place that is strictly enforced in most major cities. We recommend booking your holiday at a resort as they don't have curfews.

Haiti

All travelers must submit a health declaration form to immigration authorities upon arrival and keep the form with them while in Haiti. Upon arrival, there are mandatory temperature screenings and visitors must be able to provide a local address of where they will be staying. Please note that wearing a mask in public is required in Haiti.

Puerto Rico

Puerto Rico is currently open to U.S. travelers who can provide a negative PCR test taken within 72 hours of arrival. Travelers will also need to fill out a Travel Declaration Form and obtain an Airport Exit Confirmation number and QR code, which travelers will automatically receive when uploading proof of their negative Covid result to the portal.

Sint Maarten/Saint Martin

Both the Dutch side of the island and the French side are currently open to U.S. tourists. Entry requirements include a completed health declaration and a negative PCR test taken within 72 hours of arrival.

Turks and Caicos

U.S. visitors will be required to submit a negative PCR test result (through TCI Assured) taken within five days of travel; proof of travel insurance that covers medical evacuation, costs related to quarantine, ambulance care, or care at a local hospital; and a completed online health screening questionnaire. Once their documents have been approved, they will be granted a certification which must then be presented when they check-in to their flight.
