Pirates, we had already told you about Thailand's decision to reopen, quarantine-free to vaccinated tourists in July. First with Phuket and then other tourist resorts, pending a more general reopening without restrictions starting from October. If you just can't wait until then, we have some good news for you. The mandatory quarantine length for tourists was shortened earlier this month. Read on to find out more!

Additional Information

On April 1st, the Thai government reduced the mandatory quarantine time for tourists visiting Thailand. The new rules are as followed:

  • Unvaccinated tourists: the quarantine is reduced from 14 to 10 days, excluding the day of arrival in Thailand.

  • Fully Vaccinated tourists: those who are fully vaccinated for at least 14 days before departure, the quarantine is reduced to 7 days, excluding the day of arrival in Thailand. A certificate of vaccination is required upon arrival in Thailand. All vaccines recognized by the World Health Organization (WHO), and those recognized by the Thai authorities are allowed.

  • The 14-day quarantine obligation remains for those coming from the following countries, considered most at risk: South Africa, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Botswana, Zambia, Kenya, Rwanda, Cameroon, Congo, Tanzania, Ghana.
