The Sheraton Grand at Wild Horse Pass (rated 4.3/5 on Trivago) is a desert escape just south of Phoenix that skips the generic resort vibe. Built on Gila River Indian Community land, the whole property honors the heritage of the local Pima and Maricopa tribes with beautiful native art and architecture. You can spend your days horseback riding at the on-site equestrian center, hitting the golf course, swimming at the pool, or paddle boarding down the resort’s own replica river. The real highlight is Kai, the only Forbes Five-Star restaurant in Arizona, serving up some incredible, upscale takes on indigenous ingredients.
