Located in the Ozark Mountains of Arkansas, lies the historical and award-winning (4/5 on Tripadvisor and Winner of the 2023 Travelers' Choice Awards) Crescent Hotel. This hotel was built in 1886 as a luxurious accommodation atop Crescent Mountain. The hotel catered to the most affluent for nearly 15 years before it became Crescent College, a school for females. The college operated until 1934.

In 1937, the hotel was purchased by a fraudulent doctor by the name of Norman Baker, this is when the hotel's history took a dark twist. Mr. Baker made false promises to the public claiming he could cure cancer, though he had no medical training or experience. He conducted unethical procedures on his patients and scammed his patients out of millions of dollars. Following Norman Baker's downfall and eventual imprisonment, the hotel was sold in 1946 and has since been under several different ownerships. It also experienced a devastating fire in 1976 that completely destroyed a portion of the property.

The hotel itself is regarded as one of the most haunted places in America and has attracted dozens of high-profile paranormal investigators. The hotel contains a morgue in the basement near where Norman Baker tortured his innocent patients. Now, guests can visit/stay at the property and join a ghost tour of the property.

More information on the history of the hotel can be found on the hotel's website here
