October is naturally the big draw for spooky season, but November and December have the lowest rates we found, making them an especially good time to visit if you want the ghosts without the Halloween crowds.

The Crescent has been sitting high above Eureka Springs since 1886, and its history took some seriously strange turns along the way. It began as an upscale resort, later became a college for young women, and in 1937 was transformed into a hospital by Norman Baker, a notorious charlatan who claimed he could cure cancer.
The hotel's old morgue still exists in the basement, and in 2019, workers even uncovered hundreds of bottles buried on the property that were traced back to the Baker Hospital era. If this sounds suspiciously like the setup for a horror movie, that's because it basically is.
Go Ghost Hunting After Dark
Don't stop at simply sleeping here. The Crescent runs ghost tours nightly, and the classic tour takes you through some of the hotel's most famous haunted locations before ending inside the former Baker Hospital morgue.
If that's not quite enough paranormal activity for one vacation, the hotel also offers an Expert & Expanded Ghost Tour and a late-night Midnight Investigation led by a paranormal investigator. There's even a shorter Kids Ghost Tour designed for children ages 5 to 12. Tours regularly sell out, so book yours ahead of your stay.
