The 4-star hotel in the Scottish Highlands, near Inverness, is surrounded by beautiful countryside and used to be the home to the famous Mackenzie Clan. It holds a 4.5 out of 5 rating on TripAdvisor and a Traveller's Choice Award, too.

Considering that this hotel easily more than doubles this price during peak season, this is a great deal. The hotel restaurant is simply divine (yes, we've tried it and can vouch for it).

We highly recommend taking advantage of the location to do some of the NC 500, which is one of the best road-trip routes in the world. Odds are you'll see Highland Cows, so it's worth it just for that! Don't miss Cocoa Mountain in Dornoch or Balnakeil for the best hot chocolate this Pirate has ever had, hands down.
