Additional Information

To get from Munich to Neuschwanstein Castle, there are three main options:

By Car: Renting a car gives you flexibility. The drive takes about 1.5–2 hours, and you’ll need to park at the bottom of the hill and either walk or take a shuttle up to the castle.

By Guided Tour: A convenient option, as a tour will pick you up in Munich, take you by bus to the castle, and return you in the evening. Many tours also include stops at Linderhof Palace and Oberammergau, offering a broader look at Bavaria’s countryside.

By Train: The most affordable option, though it takes longer. From Munich’s main train station (Hauptbahnhof), take a 2–2.5-hour train to Füssen. From there, you can take a bus, taxi, or walk to the castle. The bus ride takes about 10-15 minutes, and a shuttle service is available to take you up the hill.
