It's no secret that vacation days can be hard to come by in the US, but here we've found a great solution for New Yorkers looking to spend a week exploring other cities around the US — you could even tie in some mobile working if necessary.

Usually, prices for coast-to-coast flights start around $300 round trip — but why only check out the West Coast when you can make fun stops along the way and pay less? For less than $200, we've put together an itinerary of nonstop flights to Atlanta, Phoenix, Vegas, and California leaving Saturday morning, and returning the following Saturday evening! That way you won't need to take more than five vacation days, and you'll have Sunday after you get back to regroup.

Pirate Tip: All of the cities we've included have affordable public transport systems that can get you from the airport to the city.

Departure

  • New York City

Destination

  • Atlanta
  • Phoenix
  • Las Vegas
  • San Francisco

Details

Below, I've constructed an example itinerary starting and ending in New York City. You could book exactly the flights I've put together, or you can change your dates, starting departure city, and stopping points around.

Saturday, February 4th

Sunday, February 5th

Tuesday, February 7th

Thursday, February 9th

Saturday, February 11th

Keep in mind that Spirit and Frontier operate on a low-cost carrier model, so you'll want to keep your baggage to a minimum. For this kind of weeklong trip, that's generally easy to do with a normal-sized backpack, and a versatile jacket to wear onboard.

Additional Information

The total price is calculated as follows:

$28 + $36 + $18 + $19 + $78 = $179 for 5 nonstop flights around the US

Keep in mind that prices are always changing, and though our deals are available when we post them, they'll usually change over time.
