Wands at the ready, Potterheads.
For the first time ever, fans of Harry Potter will soon be able to sleep inside a fully themed Harry Potter hotel, and surprisingly, it will not be at Universal Studios. Instead, the world’s first official Harry Potter–themed hotel is coming to LEGOLAND Deutschland Resort in Günzburg, Germany, as part of a massive new expansion created in partnership with Warner Bros. Discovery Global Experiences and Merlin Entertainments. Rooms will be themed around all four Hogwarts houses, and the hotel opens alongside the world's first LEGO Harry Potter land.

Until now, immersive Harry Potter experiences have been concentrated at Universal parks in Florida, California, Japan, and China. While those destinations feature highly detailed lands and rides, none has ever offered official Harry Potter hotel accommodations.
That is about to change.
LEGOLAND Deutschland has confirmed plans for the first-ever guest accommodation devoted entirely to the Wizarding World, designed to extend the magic beyond the theme park gates. Guests can expect Hogwarts-inspired décor, richly themed rooms, and playful details meant to make visitors feel as though they have stepped into the pages of the books or the LEGO-built wizarding universe.
Rooms will be themed around the four Hogwarts houses — Gryffindor, Slytherin, Ravenclaw, and Hufflepuff — with interiors richly detailed and inspired by the films. Communal areas will also recreate iconic locations from the Wizarding World, reinforcing the sense of total immersion.
The hotel announcement is part of a larger project: the creation of the world’s first LEGO Harry Potter land.
This new land will bring iconic Harry Potter locations to life entirely in LEGO form, blending the familiar wizarding world with LEGOLAND’s signature brick-built creativity. Visitors will be able to explore LEGO interpretations of Hogwarts and other beloved settings, creating a version of the Wizarding World unlike anything currently available at Universal parks.
Merlin Entertainments CEO Fiona Eastwood has described the project as the company's largest-ever single investment into an existing LEGOLAND site. "We're incredibly excited to unveil LEGO Harry Potter on an epic scale, as we accelerate the growth of LEGOLAND Resorts and elevate them into world-class destinations," she said in the official announcement.
Warner Bros. Discovery Global Experiences EVP Peter van Roden has echoed that ambition. "Working alongside Merlin Entertainments and the LEGO Group over the years has always led to unforgettable and unique experiences for fans," he said, "and we are thrilled to extend the partnership with one of our most beloved franchises." The goal, he added, is to let fans "step into the familiar LEGO Harry Potter aesthetic they have been constructing for years and physically experience the wizarding world like never before."
Until now, a Harry Potter vacation typically meant U.S.-based theme parks, or an even longer journey to Asia. This new Germany-based experience will open up a European option that pairs easily with broader travel plans, rather than requiring a trip built entirely around a single theme park.
LEGOLAND Deutschland will be located in Bavaria, roughly halfway between Munich and Stuttgart, making it easy to reach by train, or by car once visitors fly into either city. For families already planning a European vacation, it will create a compelling new stop that blends theme park fun with international travel.
The project also signals a shift in where major Harry Potter experiences are being developed. This hotel will not be connected to Universal, marking a notable expansion of the Wizarding World beyond its familiar homes in Orlando, Los Angeles, and London. Instead, it will introduce an entirely new region for Potter fans to explore, positioning Germany as a fresh destination in the Harry Potter universe.
An exact opening date has not yet been announced, but the hotel is expected to open during the 2026 park season, which runs from March 28 to November 8. A dedicated landing page is already live at legoland.de/en/harrypotter/, where fans can register for email updates and be first in line when bookings open.
As plans are finalized, fans can expect additional announcements about room designs, booking timelines, and what exactly guests will experience inside this unprecedented wizarding hotel.
Between the new LEGO Harry Potter land and the first official Harry Potter hotel rooms anywhere in the world, LEGOLAND Deutschland is positioning itself as a future pilgrimage site for Potterheads of all ages.
Magic, it seems, continues to find new places to appear.
