No spoilers here (yet), but let’s just say Heated Rivalry has taken over my algorithm. Like most of you, I’ve been absolutely hooked. From the drama and chemistry to the editing, music, and every slow-mo stare, this series has me in a chokehold. I read the full Game Changers book series in under three weeks. It’s not healthy, but it’s real.

Pirates, while I could go full-essay on the plot and pacing of each episode (trust me, I’ve got notes), this is still a travel site. So instead, I went down a rabbit hole of Reddit threads, IG reels, and filming location gossip to bring you the best of what I found: the real-life locations behind some of your favorite scenes.
Whether you’re planning a fan road trip or just want to put some names to those places, here’s your guide to where Heated Rivalry was actually filmed.
Not exactly a surprise, since the show is a Canadian production. And honestly, shout-out to Hamilton, Ontario, for pulling double (and triple) duty as everything from NYC bodegas to snowy Russian forests.
Let’s break it down.
One could argue that the city of Hamilton, Ontario, is the real star of the show, serving as the backdrop for many of the scenes still etched in my memory.
The pink tunnel scene where Ilya calls Shane in “Russia" and gives us one of the most heartwrenching russian speaches ever made by a Texas-born.
The restaurant where Shane dines with his parents. Interior shots only.
The Mexican restaurant where Scott and Kip almost went in episode three, before Kip picked "or" at the apartment.
You know the one. The club scene, with the All the Things She Said remix that altered every millennial's chemistry (yes, I am still playing it on repeat).
Awards ceremony, bathroom scenes, and more.
Scott’s running route before meeting Kip, with the intro to I'll Believe in Anything by Wolf Parade playing in the background.
A.K.A. Straw + Berry! You can absolutely grab a coffee here, but sadly, there’s no Blue Moon Over Brooklyn smoothie… at least not to my knowledge.
Where Rose and Shane have the only conversation about pegs I've ever been invested in, with a very emotional and pivotal self-admission from Shane at the end.
Used for the Russia scenes where Ilya goes on his intense runs every summer while texting with "Jane."
The real-life "KingFisher" bar where Kip and his friends hang out, and even celebrate his birthday while Scott watches from outside at the end of episode three. There's some extra importance to this location for those who have read the other books, but I won't spoil you.
The "Tampa" pool hotel during the All-Stars, where Ilya plays shark by the pool, and has to search for the meaning of "compatible" before making any moves.
The real-life location of Shane’s cottage and the setting for the entirety of episode six.
No, you can’t rent it (yet). And yes, it lives in my head forever.

The show was mostly filmed in Hamilton, Ontario, with key scenes in Toronto, Dundas, and Muskoka Lakes
Iconic spots include Shamrock Park, Relay Coffee, and Dundurn Castle
The cottage? Yep, it’s real — located in Muskoka Lakes
I compiled this list from Reddit, Instagram reels, and too much personal time
While most places are public, a few (like Paloma and private houses) may not be accessible
