The current cost for a family of four to visit Disney World for a week is over $6,000 for a budget trip, $9,000 for mid-range, and $15,000 for a high-end trip according to NerdWallet. These prices include a Disney hotel, 6-day park passes, food, and activities, but don't include travel costs to Orlando.
This started us thinking, where could you go with your family for the same price?
We've conjured up a week-long trip to the British Isles (England, Scotland, and Ireland) for you to consider instead of a pilgrimage to Orlando. Each country has three budget options ranging between $6,000-$15,000 and includes accommodation, three meals per day, and activities. We even included a sample flight from New York within the budget!

We tried to hit the budget of the Disney trip without having flights added on, but we had so much budget left over that we added them in. In mid and high-range categories, we're still at only half the budget of their corresponding Disney trip.
Hopefully this gives you some perspective on how much you can see for the cost of an Orlando Theme Park trip. You could double the length of your trip away and still spend the same amount! Or, you could add on extra special experiences, upgrade your flights, or upgrade your hotel. Our favorite option would be to save the money and do another vacation! The budget remaining would go a long way in the Carribbean, Southeast Asia, Europe, or South America.
