It was announced on the New Zealand government website that pre-departure Covid tests for all international arrivals are ending on June 21st, as part of its 5-step border-opening plan.
In a statement, the government said: “The challenges pre-departure tests pose to visitors are now no longer outweighed by the public health benefits."
If your flight departs to New Zealand after 11:59 pm on June 20th, you will not need any pre-departure Covid test to gain entry to the country.
Yes, you still need to be fully vaccinated and take two lateral flow tests, one on the day you land and one in five/six days after.
The State.Gov website has yet to update its travel advice for New Zealand. You can also check the New Zealand government website to see the full detail of their entry requirements.
