Van Gogh's Famous 'The Bedroom' has been Turned into an Airbnb!
From $49
If you are interested in Vincent van Gogh's masterpieces, you have most likely seen the film about his life or know the famous painting The Bedroom. Painted by Van Gogh in 1889, it is one of three similar paintings from the series Bedroom in Arles, where Van Gogh painted his bedroom while staying in Arles.
We've found an Airbnb stay in this very same region that has been modeled after the famous painting, and you can now rent it and stay and discover a bit more about Van Gogh and his life.
We love bringing you unique stays, and this one definitely fits the bill! Located in Arles, France, this room will transport you into the world of Van Gogh.
The hosts took care of every detail of the décor to reflect the spirit of Vincent van Gogh's bedroom. You can find copies of the painter's letters, read books about him and even smoke a pipe similar to his.
Such a place is perfect for people with artistic souls. The room is ideal for one person, as it is quite small, and it's also important that the guests are not too tall because the bed is not the largest either.
Guests will surely find a lot of peace here after a long journey. The hosts also offer a glass of absinthe on the patio or terrace. At night, you will be able to enjoy stargazing from the terrace with the beautiful Arlesian night sky.
The creators of the Van Gogh film "At Eternity's Gate," director Julian Schnabel and actor William Dafoe (pictured below), also passed through this house.
The room calls to pilgrims (who will get a special rate), wanderers, dreamers, artists, and those with adventure in their souls!
The stay is meant to be a brief reprieve from the long, wind-beaten road where the host hopes you can use the room to find peace and mindfulness. The stay also has a private bathroom just outside of the room, in the hallway.
The room is really only big enough for one person, perfect for solo travelers. However, you are allowed to bring another person if you are in love.
There is a 2-night minimum stay on most months, and rates start from $49 a night. The host, however, wishes anyone who books to confirm their stay by writing them a handwritten letter (addressed to 23, rue Waldeck Rousseau 13200 Arles-sur-Rhone) as the internet didn't exist for Van Gogh.
What do you think, pirates; would you book it? Let us know in the comments!
