Alright pirates, we may have decided we belong to the seven seas, but that doesn't mean we didn't spend our childhoods dreaming of exploring space. And while our dreams of working for NASA might be a little unrealistic at this point, we have found the next best thing: Adult Space Camp!
Just a few hours from major Southeast cities like Nashville, Atlanta, and Birmingham, you'll find yourself at the Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, AL. Birthplace of some of the first satellites and rockets to enter space, it has also been home to Space Camp since 1982. And while you may be too old now for the traditional summer camp experience, you can still take advantage of the Adult Space Academy!
Adult Space Camp 2018 Timeframe: 11. May. 2018 - 9. Sep. 2018
How To Book
Adult Space Academy
Always wanted to be an astronaut? Um, yes. Thought the window of opportunity had passed? I'd say so. Well lucky for us, the folks at Space Camp USA know that age is just a number.
Head to the Marshall Space Flight Center and spend three days training just like the men and women who get launched into orbit. While there, build your own personal rocket, complete flight missions, and take part in simulated training scenarios.
Not sure what that actually means? Basically, you'll do exactly what the astronauts do without the years of STEM experience. Take a ride in the multi-axis machine, find out what it's like to walk on the moon, and go weightless while scuba diving. Wrap up your weekend by testing all that you've learned on one final mission—putting a human on Mars!
