We certainly love unusual accommodations here at TravelPirates and recently, we've come across a super unique Airbnb that is the shape of an elephant.
This elephant is so popular, all stays have unfortunately been booked out for the near future, however, you can reserve a tour and still get some snaps for the gram — we'll be keeping our beady eyes out for when there is some availability!
The elephant is located in Margate City in New Jersey and can sleep up to two people.
The elephant's name is Lucy. She is 139-years old and a National Historic Landmark as the oldest roadside attraction in America! (she's even older than the Statue of Liberty and the Eiffel Tower but age is just a number)
To enter this delightful accommodation on the Jersy Shore you go through the door and up 25 steps where it will feel like you have gone back in time to the 1800s, there is a trunk (not the elephant kind) for your belongings, a bed, sculptures, flowers and loads more giving the inside a very grand feeling.
The first time someone stayed in Lucy the elephant was in 1902. Since then there has even been an American president who has spent the night.
