We all need a good laugh from time to time, especially in 2020. This incredible story comes straight to us from Yellowstone, where an Idahoan man was banned from setting foot in Yellowstone National Park for the next two years after he was caught trying to cook two whole chickens in a hot spring. We kid you not.
Park rangers were informed of a group of three people heading towards the Shoshone Geyser Basin with cooking pots. After arriving at the scene, officials found two whole chickens inside a burlap sack floating in the thermal spring.
Yellowstone National Park is nearly 2.2 million acres of wilderness recreation atop a volcanic hot spot covering three states: Wyoming, Montana, and Idaho. Yellowstone offers spectacular canyons, rivers, lush forests, hot springs, and gushing geysers; including the most famous: Old Faithful. It is also home to hundreds of animal species including bears, wolves, bison, moose, and antelope, and is one of the most famous and interesting National Parks in America.
We highly recommend taking a trip there if you haven't already, just leave the chicken at home. Or, rent an airbnb (like this great group stay from $79 per person, per night) that has a fully equipped kitchen. That way you can visit the park and have your chicken too!
