Are you tired of streaming another movie from your laptop? Do you miss the experience of going to the movies with your friends? Luckily, you will have the chance to go to the movies this holiday season. AMC is launching a new feature this week that allows you and 19 of your closest friends and family members to rent out an entire movie theater.
Private theater rentals start at $99 for fan favorites and $149 for new releases. Each rental fee includes the price of tickets for up to 20 people. It might seem a little pricey, but if you can manage to get 20 people together—COVID-free, of course—it would just be $5 per person for an older movie and $7.45 per person for a new release. That is a lot less than what you would regularly pay to see a movie in theaters with a lot more people.
You can book the private showing up to one day in advance through the AMC app or on their website. Please note that guests must follow AMC's Safe and Clean rules, which includes wearing masks and social distancing. The theaters will thoroughly clean between each showing, including a nightly disinfecting, will provide hand sanitizing stations, and have upgraded their air filtration systems.
