Great news, gamers. Atari — the video game company that brought us games like Pong, Asteroids, and Centipede — is planning to open eight interactive video game-themed hotels around the US.
Pop culture fans and nostalgia lovers alike will certainly rejoice over this exciting news. The first hotel is scheduled to open in 2022 in Las Vegas, followed shortly with the opening of hotels in Phoenix, Denver, Seattle, Austin, San Francisco, and San Jose.
Atari aims to blend the past, present, and future of the gaming industry into one fun-filled, action-packed, family-friendly hotel experience. Guests will be provided with interactive and immersive experiences throughout the hotels; including state-of-the-art technology and gaming consoles in their rooms, as well as retro-styled gaming arcades within the hotels.
While the hotels will offer many options for guests of all-ages, there will be plenty of adult-only entertainment as well. Nightclubs, speakeasies, Chuck E. Cheese-inspired restaurants, and pop-culture-themed bars are just some of the attractions guests can expect.
