Pirates, the Maldives might be one of the most picturesque locations on earth, but those of us on a budget rarely get the chance to even think about visiting for ourselves. That's why we're pretty sure this new position is quite the novel opportunity...
Phillip Blackwell, owner of the Ultimate Library Company, is currently recruiting a bookseller to work in one of the Maldives' most luxurious resorts. The successful candidate will run an exclusive pop-up bookshop at the grand Soneva Fushi eco-resort, where guests shell out up to $26,000 a night.
In addition to selling books, the lucky librarian will be asked to write "an entertaining and lively blog" about their experiences in the Maldives, as well as hosting creative writing courses for the adults and book readings for children within the 5-star resort.
Discussing his ideal candidate, Blackwell told The Guardian: "We want someone on the ground who is creative and inspiring and can maybe get more people to share the pleasure of reading, which is what people enjoy doing on holiday."
Unless you're booked up for the foreseeable future, we highly recommend considering this job for your next chapter.
