Hey pirates, we're writing this post for you from home and urge you to stay home too if you're not already.
Today, during the month of Women's Day, we thought'd be cool to help you (further) discover an extraordinary female artist, Frida Kahlo. We'd normally recommend traveling down to Mexico City on some crazy cheap flights to see la Casa Azul, where she lived and painted. Instead we've found something just as awesome that you can do from home.
Google Arts & Culture has teamed up with thousands of museums around the world and created virtual tours that allow you to move in the rooms of museums just like during an in-person visit.
Featuring more than 800 of Frida's works are available through this beautiful virtual exhibition — enough to fill an afternoon. You'll find not only paintings, but also photos, letters, objects, clothes, and excerpts from diary. It's quite possible that you'll be inspired enough to fill your next afternoon with (trying out) painting yourself.
